i tried many times but the closest i got to killing it was with the heavybowgun but i ran out of ammo(clust,crag,flame s) so i used peircing,pellets then my normal 1..i was so close but time ran out...my next idea is to take fire herbs and huskberrys so when i run out ill just combine to get more


throw me ideas though i need them cause ive done all other quests

is this the urgent quest near the beginning?
If so, dont feel disheartened. I was also stuck here.
I used the snow gunlance, but have never returned to them.
Your best bet, as you have worked out is fire. Now if you are gunning, have you brought the stuff with you to make more ammo?
With close combat. I saw use a fire SNS. allows you to block his scream and get loads of hits in. if I havent helped enough feel free to post back and i'll come around for another go

With a gun wait in zone 1, he will come to you. Stand on top of the rocks but not too close to the edge(?). Load the flames and wait for him to get close to you, bullets don't go on forever, elerment bullets has the shortest range. When I did this quest first time I only used Flames, clust, crag and pellets and it was dead.

You can also look out for repid shot light bow guns to maximise your elemental shots, just make sure you brought the right ammo as some guns uses only certain rounds.

i used flame s and crag s with huskberry an fire herb and when he is sleeping i used 2 large bombs and i was going to put a small bomb but tha giaprey hit the bomb and it killed it and i survived
