***Quest - how to slay the powerful monsters???

im done completing half of ***Quest and im task to finish all the strong monsters. need help with this

Plesioth
Gypceros
Blue YKK
the giant crab (i got a tip to use GL to slay this monster, might try my luck)

Plesioth- Use the Khezu shockblade you made, also try to kill more Hermitaurs(giant crab) to make it's armour set for this fight.
bring as much sonic bombs, traps if you want and frogs.
You can either fish it out with a frog at the edges(I'm assuming your 1st plesioth quest is in the desert) or sonic bomb it out.
Run to his left(your right) from infront of it to lure it to spray attack you then go wild on his legs 1st. Keep to it's left and hide under it's legs when it sweeps it's tail to attack, roll further to it's left when it tries to tackle you.
If you keep up the attck it should die pretty quick. if it runs, follow it to the other area with water rinse and repeat the process of getting it out of the water. If you can time it right, Hold down your Triangle button when you draw your weapon or when you execute a overhead slash to charge your attack for massive damage.
Alternate strategy is to use a poison weapon, preferably a SNS(PBA, Shakalala, princess rapier) and keep it poisoned, it will not stay in water for long but you deal less damage.

Gypceros-
SnS preferred for faster attack and movement, blocking.
Fire is it's weakness but it's not important to exploit it.
Any high Def armour will work but It's armour set(gypceros) is probably better until you get better armour sets.
Bring antidotes or make Herbal medicine(cactus flower + bitter bug) and try to stay away from the poison ponds if you take on it in the night.
Work on it's legs and head if you can reach it like when you deal with the YKK, only this time it deals more trample damage and have a higher tendancy to run around. Be sure to paint it so you know exactly where it goes. If you work on it's legs enough it'll fall over and you have some quality time to work on it's head.
Attack you need to watch out for-

Flash, you can either block it or use emergency evade(run without weapons drawn + roll) to avoid it. If you got dazed by it's flash shake you analogue stick and press buttons to shake of the effects faster. Breaking it's horn on it's head disables this attack.

Tail sweep, unlike the YKK, it's tail sweep is gonna hit you more to the back then sides, best way to avoid it in combat is by rolling to it's legs.

Fake death, when you see it roll over like it's defeated, don't go straight to carve, throw something at it once it's totally immobile. If it's really dead it'll not react to the projectile, otherwise it'll get up trashing about. Stay away(applicable mostly in dual Gypceros fights or if it is not the main focus of the quest like in a gathering quest).

All in all blocking it is your best bet if it starts running random or flash continously.

Blue YKK-
Same tactics as with the regular ones, this bidy deals more damage overall.
Weakness one
Beside charging at you or pecking, it has no practical attacks to employ when you're under it. best spot to attack it.

weakness two
Head, it's low when it throws a fireball, it's easy to aim when it misses a sweep. whack it's head and you'll see the effects show when it's ears break.

Weakness three
It will get dazed not only by flash bombs but... by a sonic bomb! This birdy is the most timid of the monsters and will get frigthened by loud noises. A large bomb or crag shot has a similar effect on it. Only effective when it's not in rage(angry)

im using the cephalos armor, dark scythe weapon.
and your right! he seems dead but when i went for him to slash him, man that move he made is genius! made a lot of damage...

how about using flash bombs?

Hermituar AKA giant crab
Hammers are your best weapon against it. elements asie, you can daze it by hammering it on it's head(it will fall over easily). you deal massive damage with every strike and hammerfall(charge with R button when weapon drawn) almost always have it fall over.
The hammer is also the ONLY weapon that can totally break it's shell. When it's broken, it's defence drops steep and it dies very fast.

Breakable parts
Back(2 times), Claws(2 times, left and right)

Strategy
Always try to circle around it, it will try to either face you or sweep it's claws for you, that's the cue to land a quick strike on it but don't get greedy, stretch it out for a few rounds until you gt it to fallover, start on it's back whenever possible or now.

When you break it's shell the 1st time, it will scramble around to face you. If you are low on HP this is the time to exit the area as it's very likely in rage mode. It is very dangerous in rage as it's movement is so fast, any attack that knocks you down will spell your doom. have it painted and exit the are. then wait till it 's spot stops, then re enter to continue your fight. if it runs, follow.

If you had landed a few strikes on it, (hammer) work on it's head/front. while it's the most dnagerous place to be in. a complete 3 strike(or 4 if you did the jab) will very likely have it stumble over and over. continue to torment it till death.

It is immune to shock traps, flash bombs.
SNS= Sword and shield

Hey I sold my Iron Hammer! but im planning to get it, but i can see the kut ku hammer, which is powerful?

Just compare the attack power, Bullfango head can get you a decent hammer too.
