EspinasThe Espinas is a wyvern that will soon be featured in Monster Hunter Frontier. Capcom was originally planning on making the monster a similar body shape to a Lao-Shan Lung, but changed their mind. It may be a possibility that CAPCOM was planning on making the Espinas a wyvern the entire time, and that how the monster is showed in the original picture may be how it is when it's resting.
Their current design bears most resemblance to a Rathian, but with its body covered in hot pink spikes and rough plating instead of scales. It can quickly spit bright purple balls of what is assumed to be poison in the manner a Gypceros does. It charges similar to how a Basarios or Monoblos charges, with its head in front to damage enemies with the giant pink thorn on its head. It is very accustomed to using its spikey tail as a weapon. When it becomes enraged, a soft pink color spreads over its back and the top part of its wings.

They pecularly have red bulbs of light aurating from its body, possibly showing the heat within it. It lives in volcano zones where it can freely swim in the lava. They also have two legs, which they use to their advantage to walk on land.
Volganos will first be seen in Monster Hunter Frontier. Volganos was first released in the game to be hunted on August 8, 2007.
