you can trade dragonite ore with the swamp veggie elder for hercudromes.

You can also get them at the Volcano. I got mine there. Dunno which area though... Haven't played in months. xD

Khushala is probably more tedious to kill but not really harder then tigrex.

If you don't have decent lighnting or dragon element weapons, yes use poison ones, you may not be able to kill it(or it'll be unlikely in most cases) but it'll make your fight generally easier. Poison will keep the damage rolling on the dragon so it'll be easier to drive it away within the 25 minute time limit.

You'll get your dragon elements weapons as soon as you beat the Lao shan lung. I wouldn't bet on lightning early on since your options are somewhat limited to the GS with khezu parts, hammers or such unless you already made your eagle cleaver. Be warned, the windpress will be your 1st major hurdle when dealing with the khusala so try not to put too much focus on maximising your weapon upgrades atm.

Getting earplugs help to some extent since it has a tendency to scream ever so often when you get good on the damage. Use it's scream as a cue to leave it's immediate radius as it usually settles down with windpress switched on. The knockdown from the windpress will waste you precious time apart from making you extremely vulnerable to it's following attack.

Do you have a friend to play with you? if you do, it'll be fun as soloing the Khusala can get a littl tiresome. A hunting horn partner Blowing minor windpress notes can also stack it for dragon windpress prevention. that IMO is a big plus and lifts the burden of having you mix your armour for dragonwindpress skill.

If you have any weapons/armour combinations you have and want to list out It'll be easier to see what you can use already instead of us suggesting you to kill another N x number of monster in preparation to kill the Khushala.

If you read he other posts already, you'll know that poison also keeps it's windpress in check. Knives are great but limited so I wouldn't bank on them, just don't bother with poison bombs. I know bugs are really afraid of em bombs but I don't se the point in getting near the dragon just to use the bomb while risking everything else... that if they even work at all.

and my three poison weapons are:

When i used to solo i would use a poison weapon (wyvern blade 'verde') first round to damage it and try and break its parts then next round i would finish it off with a dragon weapon.

one thing i noticed oz didn't mention is the felyne partners with a dragon element attack they will help a little.

My anti dragon felyne is a bomber/melee i gave him dragon element, recovery speed inc and large barrel bomb skill they don't offer much.. but it does help and even manages to break my hr9 Teostra's horns eventually.

nomatter what Ido I always lose!!!!!!!! the tigrex ive gotten to sleep put didnot have tranq bombs so i had to wake it up but then it murdereed me in the confinded space of area three!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Tfighter, use your Poison battle axe for Khushala, though the eaglecleaver is better in damage you want to focus on driving it off and surviving in the 1st round. Ceantuar set isn't the best, but ack, if you gemmed off the defense negativity(i think it's there), the sharpness skill would be a great assent. The armour also has sharpning skill if I'm not mistaken.


Tigrex is widely covered on youtube, as such I think this fight is better explained with visuals. Go check youtube out!

I didn't mention the felynes for a fact that you need alot more advancement in game for them to actually be of use. Even when I do not take note of th requirements, I can roughly guess the monster Tfigther will have to beat just so his cat will get dagon element.

@ JG: You only need to do 1 point of dragon damage to brake the horns on Teo and luna, and a lot of raw damage. I use a dragon cat so I can brake the horns with a gun. ^-^

@ OZ: Dragon element is unlocked when the cats level is at 7. They don't need to fight a monster, and it's also one of the first downloadable contents.

@ Tfighteer: For Kushala Doura, I would recomend a light weapon, like a long sword, a sword and sheild, or maybe a light bowgun. Any strong dragon or thunder will do. I would stay to one side of the Kushala and attack it's head, that way it will fall over more, giving some open shots on it.

As for a tigrex... best to watch the vids on youtube.

oz : The only reason i got centatuar cuz i had conga mail and i wanted something new and it was the best i could get what do you need to gem off the defense -20 and yeah it has a sharpening skill up and shapness skill too

I havent tried alot with kushala but ill try with eagle cleaver cuz thats my only thunder weapon and my poison weapons i cant get close without being blown down and then attacked

I thought the only way to get it was to level up your Felyne Fighter.

I don't expect Tfighter to have the means, but ack, sorry I got defensive. Anyways I don't feel that one would want to get over reliant on your feylnes as they cannot join you in higher ranked guild missions. but I probably don't know better. so bleh.

they can join G quests but they are pretty useless.. i don't normally use them but on things like teo and kushal they have helped me a little.

I think the cats are useful on G ranked quest, they make good distractions.

I find it easier to fight a monster with it's attention, just my opinion anyways.

I use guns, so a distraction for the monster is useful.

I normally only use them on fata and teo
