Right so I picked up a copy of MHFU and started playing. I already had experience with MH since I own a copy of MHF. So I quickly got to the 3* quests. I tried out Daimyo and got quickly whooped. I learned about Daimyo's weaknesses and decided I'd get a Khezu shock sword. I also wanted the Khezu set so I decided I'd farm Khezu. I found out I needed Rubbery Hides and turned to my Gypceros quest. So I went and did it and got said Rubbery hides. But there was one problem. I needed a couple more and Gypceros wasn't easy.

So first question is what set would be good for Gypceros/Purple Gypceros farming?

Next question is, should I get Khezu Shock Sword? Or another weapon?

if there where any armour sets that would be recommended to combat the gypceros, it'll probably be the teo 10* set, it offers poison resist and prevents theft of items. know this howevr, you could simply make a armour get by mixing around just for the 2 skill.

if you're asking if you should get the weapon for the tigerex, I'll probably support your push for it.

seriously though, just use any hammer you can get for daimyo. farming gypceros and khezu for lesser monsters? I think I feel sorry for the Daimyo hermituar already.

Armour isn't a problem if you know it's attacks, and you can use your sword to block the flashes. Use a fire weapon to fight Gypceros. There is a 2* rathalos quest you can do in the guild hall to get a fire great sword.

well you can just face away from his flash and be fine tbh.
i used the bone katana on both daiymo and gycepros.
Daiymo is really easy with a LS. dont get behind him, always attack his legs (to trip him up) and roll out when a big attack is coming. cos his basic side swipes are pretty rubbish.

Nevermind with Daiymo. I did a run with him using a war drum. It was pretty simple.

The only problem I have is Gypceros. The weapon I used against Gypceros is Kut-Ku Stave I. I'm thinking of farming Rathalos for a fire weapon.

lesser vesion daimyos would pobably fall over from just 2 mega smashes from the bullfango hammer or better. The insistance of elemental affinity is commendable, though IMO overkill for monsters below 4 stars.


as with the gypcros, just use the hunting horn and hit up the "no faint skill, that'll keep it's flash attacks in check, the rest is just it's poison and theving ways. paint it often so you can chase it down, it has the tenacity to run around alot then fleeing when hurt.

PS: I wouldn't worry about getting elemental affinity, if you learn how it moves, beating on it's head is enough to break the gypceros in less then 10 minutes on almost ANY weapon.

From my experiences with MHF, I know how most creatures move. Gypceros is no exception, as I had to fight it in the swamp(First G mind you) with a pack of bullfangos in practically every area, using a lance(Spiked Spear). It's just that for some reason, this one is more difficult. I constantly aim for the tail because of it's weakness to fire. And I don't have any troubles dodging his poison attacks. I can avoid his flashes due to the awesomeness of my Comrade Cat. (He seems to pop back up in the right places.)

well, I would mostly go for th head since most monsters are weaker there. nevermind the elemental "weakness.

I seem to have forgotten my MH roots. I had used a lance for every monster in MHF and I would prove successful. I guess I should hurry up with that lance upgrading I'm doing.

here's a nice way to deal with gypceros, as oz said you don't really need to exploit their element weakness with them at this early stage improve bone gs a few times.

Unfortunately I'm absolutely horrible with GS. How I can kill Kut-Ku with a GS still eludes me.

I always use a gun and shoot it with flames, but a rathalos or any fire weapon should do.

Uhm. I suppose JG could hook you up with some tutorial vids. Watch the players movements and when he dodges. What attack he uses and when is also important.

To record, 25 sconds to get to the daimyo in jungle stage, roughly 1 minute 30 seconds with the 1st lighnting element hammer.

Here's a tip for you tfighter, we all know the flash attacks are annoying as hell right? A trick to be relatively safe from being bowled over after the flash. Just stand under the gypceros when you're fighting it, nevermind the trampling damage you get, nevermind no being able to inflict full damage and bouncing almost all the time. It just works.

the G rank black fatalis armor has a good skill its better anit-gypceros i think urm abnormal status protection or something it protects from most things (lol i only know this because my friend made a video with it)

ahhh. well unless it G ranked most monsters aren't even worth the strategies developed specifically for them.

heh yeah thats true, i was just thinking the only good thing that armor has is gypceros protection other than that bleh crap

I use a gun for that, but a fire or thunder weapon will work. Using a weapon that can block monster attacks would be helpfull.

I second gunning Plessy if you have problems, simply bring a gun with decent atk power that can use pierce lvl 1, 2 and normal shot 2. Any HBG with atk 240 or so should allow you to kill the plessy off after expending all your pierce shots and some of your lvl 2 normal shots.

To avoid the Plessy from surprising you, stand and allow it to face you. As it moves to attack with either it's water spray, slithering charge or body tackle, simply stay away or move to the side then fire off.
Allow it to attack 1st so you'll be prepared for it, haste makes you a dead hunter fast.

At level four the only thing I think you should worry about is the Kushala Daora. Monoblos and Garuga could be a problem, but I think you'll do fine fighting them.

I would recoment using Flame and Thunder shots with what oz sugested. Personally I would also use Clust and Crags to help weaken it quicker.
