I know I can put on this with different variations and just played with it.

But what do they actually do and is there a perfect combination?

Im using the Basarios and Obituary full set armors and Devil Slicer

you just have to see what skills the armour has got then make the right jewel to increase the points for the skill

obituary set would get you evade +2? Every activated skill counts for something. but you may not find every skill useful to you.
