| Hiya ALL! Im not new to monster hutner at all. Nice to see a forum with ppl in terested in MH! Hr16 in MH1. Ign is Munkii. I was thinking of getting monster hunter 2, but there are lots of things I need to know first. 1. Can you easily tell what materials you need to make weapons and armor? 2. Is online difficult to play? are there english servers? 3. are the controls basically the same? 4.Can you tell what quest you are doing? or do you have to guess it cause its all in japaneses. 5. Is it hard at all in general like reading the japanese and stuff. 6. Do all of you guys have import ps2's? or did you get taht disc that lets you play japanese games on your american ps2. 7. What do you need to get online. Is it the same with MH1? Network adaptor and a router?
Thanks for all the help guys!

Thanks for all the help guys! Welcome Munkii, not a pro here but I think I may have some answers to your questions. It's not too difficult to identify what kind of material is required, I don't play MH1 but it appears that the Icons used E.G. monster bones, claws ETC bear the same if not similar Icons as that in MH1. While I have no online experience, it is sad to say that there will not be any english servers since there will not be a MH 2 released in english period. The controls remained very much the same save new features from the 1st installation, you can tell whether it's a hunt down or collection quest quite easily, but as to what is required in the sub objectives i think you may really have to do some guessing. I did at 1st! Since you do have Monster hunter experience, I believe you can very much skip the story and jump into the game proper, I understand that you no longer have to do basic quests like that in MH1, basics are optional and you could go hunting almost immediately! The monsters you can hunt are introduced to you after you have Fulfilled villager's requests, upgrades are sold as you progress in game. I for one live in Asia so I'll let someone else who lives in the States or other places answer your 6th query. I think you can find some answers for your 7th query here.

| Playing online is really awesome!!! the lone problem is that most of player play online for a long time, so it's difficult for the fisrt rank quest cause only new player do it (and very very few very high rank guy who are very friendly). Last prob, there is nearly nobody who speaks english there.... so you have to be lucky or only following other dudes when you want to do quests | |
