Converting save data?

I was scanning through the MHF2 manual the otehr day, and i noticed that it said you can use the save data of MHF1 to get some items and kind of have yoru same charcter or something of the like. Can someone tell me how I can convert the file? I tried goign in and changing the .bin and .sfo files in the psp/savedata/ULUS10266 place, but then it showed up as corrupted. Thanks for your time.

Go to New Game or Load Game(I can't remember, been a long time since I did it) on the main menu(?) and it then lets you load the data from MHF1.

You only keep items that are rearity(?) 1-3(tradable items) and 10% of you're money. Your armour, weapons and other items are sold and you get 10% of that. You also get a number of tickets depending on the rearity of the armour and weapons.

Well, I started off from my old save so IMO, it' still pretty neat.. consider this.. you need to grind from the beginning... and you have no money, no materials.. the list goes on! lol. still better to start from an old save.. BTW I converted my MHP2 data to MHP2G too

go to new game then select old save thing.
Its quite good cos you get some more money

but the weapons you have off the first game get sold, so im not going to do this.... if i can get this far on mhf1... i can do the same with mhf2(if i get it)

You don't only get money for the weapons, you also get tickets to help you get some weapons more easrly(?).

Well, I don't really remember but all in all converting from an old save game i a good move. also, it does not write over the old save.. it simply makes one from the existing data.. afraid you lose your old data? save before doing anything! lol

Well heres the whole story.
You convert and your weapons and armor get sold off and you also get special tickets that allow you to get buster blade etc. (basic weps, for just a couple of tickets, dunno what they are called but its unimportant)
You can still play Freedom1 and your character will be fine.

Weapons and armour at rearity 1-3 get you normal tickets, rearity 4-5 gets you hard tickets and rearity 6-7 gets you plus class tickets. For some of the new weapons and armour on freedom 2 you do need some other items, but normally it's not alot. Like for bone armour all you need is 1 normal ticket for each peice(?). All you need for buster sword+ is one normal ticket, and thats at 384 power. Or you can get the Bone Slaher with just one hard ticket and a brute bone, and thats at 432 power.

Cos I sucked at 1 I only had the basic tickets

I had over 100 plus class tickets and little of the others, that's because I had a lot of g-ranked armour and weapons including the Vor Cannon+(Fatalis gun) and full guns and swords Fatalis armour.

Me and every one on my team had 30 kills on Fatalis.
