the Akantor

how can i kill him, the main problem is dodging his attacks its so long that it can hit you when you dive and if you go under him you cant escape it.

i tried bow , ls , gs , SnS and gun lance but i cant dodge it

Soloing this big boy is rather tedious due to the fact thatthe space is very limited, he take moe hits to stun, is not afraid of traps and only gets stunned for 2 seconds with a flash bomb.

An option is to use the hunting horn, give yourself speed boost and harder to blunt music buffs then run into it's face and do fast jabs->roll out of the way. a good way not only to dizzy it but also may break it's fangs. I only start on it's head after I broke one of it's claws and had it sprawling for a bit.

Bowing is also possible solo but you will need to be very careful not to get cornered.

My take the best would be to get some friends to do it, most people needs it's tail and you almost cannot cut it solo.
When you dive, try to do it as far to it's sides as posible, it's back legs are nt as widely spread so it's safer to do the dive that way.

I killed it a couple of times with some friends, and yesterday, was the first day i soloed him.

I soloed him using the Gun Chariot (gunlance), the Silver Sol armour (which is from silver rathalos) and put 5 gaurd+3 decorations on it. so i got gaurd +2 which means when i block, i wont lose HP.

what is he's weakness?

dragon? lol Akantor's weakness is small squinty eyes!

I have that armor too, I don't see Akantor yet merely because Im not done with Rajang on the volcano

weapon is Deadly Battle Axe

im getting pretty close to killing him now ive got to know him a bit more.Im using gun chariot GL and silver sol with guard+2
ive chopped his tail twice so ive unlocked some of his armours & weapons. Me and my granddaddy as you called him are farming shen gao ren so he can get some iron curtain jewels, then we are gonna get him

you have to kill the big ass crab then you will unlock it

yeah jg, mr crabby, we tried it once but we failed but when my friend soloed it, he kill it!!

does it make sense doing it solo makes monsters HP less?

maybe you were just unlucky try 2 player again

They naturely have more HP in 2 player games. Stack it as you add players.

i killed it (i had to farm gypceros for hours for power extracts)

but his tail landed in the lava out of my reach a bit annoying

im gonna kill it again tomorrow

I use my GS Pael Keziah with this one

ive killed him 4 times now he good fun

its a lot easier with 2 people

i wish there was a mhf1 and mhf2 meeting nearby where i live...
