What is a gun hammer?

I have seen it in the shop, but I have absolutely no clue what it does.
Can anyone inform me?

It's basically a hammer type weapon with fire element. Interesting but a little expensive to make.

so it doesn't shoot shells or anything?

Nope, just explodes like any other fire weapon on hit.

That is a good thing, you'll want to learn to use different weapons as you play.

yea. spose. i just find hammers so slow

every weapon had it's Pros and Cons. The hammer damage is one of the highests. it wouldn't be fair if it's faster then it was.

yea. I have a thing for faster weapons at the moment. But I did use a hammer to kill the daiymo thing

just today i upgraded the gun hammer to the maximum upgrade

I know mines almost just for show. LOL. I tend to use Laoshan's hammer alot more late game.

I used a great bone axe...(a type of hammer) You have no idea how crap they are!... even look at youtube videos, nobody uses them againced powerful monsters, only things like conglala and yain Kut-ku.

I used kut ku jaw hammer once, to kill the giant crab.

no i never use mine at all only rarely for kut ku's , velocidrome type monsters and once a rathian

hile I did make many hammers, I hardly use them because I like the bows more these days(I used hammers more back in MH dos, and it's all the same to me). i can only say hammers are oftenly left for hot favourites like the GS or duels as hammers are harder to use effectively.

It's a hot favorite, the GS.

i agree with that statement but what about the most unused weapon in the game "hunting horn" there more of an aquired taste

there boosters are much more suited for team play and the weapon shows high damage like hammer but like katana it doesnt do the same as the GS because horns dont do critical or powerful striking attaks X_X not even speed

so hammers are hotter then hunting horns lol

In some sense, I remember getting into a fight wit some guys on gamefaqs on this issue, where I'm promoting the use of the horn they are more keen on forcing their choice of weapon, the hammer on the person checking on the hunting horn! that's over now of course, every weapon has it's charm and use, it just takes the player the skill to use it to get the maximum effect.

BTW, Hunting horns are rather powerful in MHF2... the Akantor, Gaoren and pink rathain Horn(recorder) are very powerful.

maybe most ppl pick great swords because its a BFS (big %#$#@&*! SWORD) that came out funny lookin XD but most ppl just think swords are kool =/ maybe i should experiment every single weapon and find out if GS is my true calling i mean it could be i used it since mh1 but havent messed around with all the weapons its just time consuming and expensive X_X\

maybe that means i depend to heavily on 1 weapon o_o\

maybe after i beat G rank stuff XD ill rebeat everything with every weapon time ^_^ thatll hold me over till mh3 gets on psp

one reason i chose GS was because i used them on MHF, most people who were used to them on MHF probobly would choose it again over the katana but if someone was playing monster hunter for the first time they would probobly choose the LS
