| I read it in one of the faqs in Gamefaqs also lot of people say it to. They says after you beat Fatallis the townspeople will tell the reason why Lao is walking around in the fort, it's because he is afraid for Fatallis. Since I never play it Online i thought you guy's who play it Online know the truth about this info. Lao can rip of Rathalos just in one bite why should he afraid for Fatallis | |

| @Baium: but even a little guy like you can beat a lao alone (even without dragonator), so what could fatalis. then, lao must be a herbivor dragon, so he's big and armless... | |

| They don't give a chance Lao to attack in MHseries, the only attack he have is when he stand up and lung the head, try to grab something on its mouth. I hope they make Lao more challenging inMH3. With that huge teeth, Lao is carnivore who eat Wyvern as snack. Also some stupid crabs used Lao head skull as it shell OMG | |

Yea, very likely, infact for those that faced the Lao, it's bloody tail can sometimes kill you already, and it's just swinging to the lao's movements. imagine the lao attack like a Khushaldora... scary! - Baium wrote:

I saw the vid, as with the lobster, I'm thinking itt might be fun to have a few cameo monsters... like the illusion of yai kutku in MHF. throw me a crustatean I say!

You're talking about Yian Garuruga or Yian Garuga, the black Kut-Ku. Shame only person with MHF and PSP able to unlock him.
Back to Lao, how many carve Lao have. I only got 6 (3 from tail, 3 from body)

| there are 9, 3 in tail, 3 in body and 3 in head, but you can't carve 9 cause you have only 1min to carve, so 7 carving is my record!
you can fight Ian Garuruga online, in event quest

you can fight Ian Garuruga online, in event quest As with the carving, my record is 10. The back has 3 carves as well but you need to "drop" on it's back in the 1st few areas, If you guys made a fast gather carve armour it's likely you can get all 12 carves( 3 on back, 9 on it's cadaver). There's also etra rewards if you break it's face, shoulders and back.Too bad you cannot cut Lao shan's tail... I'll love to do it. PS: pressing select button when you've killed the bosses cut short the dieing animation, in most cases allowing you to get things done faster, Lao shan however dies real slow so this trick doesn't really help in his case.

About the shoulders, i always fail to break it. What should i do? In order to get it's head, you need to kill it before lao gets to the gates, or rather simply kill it when it's not so near the gates(it retraets a little everytime it attacks the gates.) Use a good Dragon element GS and whack it's forelegs, when you accumulate enough damage Lao will trip. Proceed to attack it's legs as much as you can.

| with crimson katana, i can kill him into 2min after entering the last area, so he is far enough from fort to carve his head, but if i want to carve his head i don't have time to carve his back while still alive | |

Not really, equal chances between the parts you can carve. Of course if you can carve more times, the better to get rarer items(that would be claws in it's case)!
