How do U knock down bugs without killing them???????????????

[b]Is there a consistent way of knocking down the bugs without killing them..
I would like to make Horner armor.
But it is really hard to disable the bugs without killing them.

Use weapons that have poison or make poison bombs. when the bugs have been poisoned(you'll know when the bubbls show) leave them alone and wait till they die.
poison bombs should be made from bomb material and toadstool
SnS weapons taht have poison, are preferred because you risk less with breaking the bugs with a single hit. PBA(poison battle axe) is one such Sword and shield weapon.
