 [Helpfull] Glitches

Most of you people know the usual glitches: going through walls in area 6 in forest&hills, Plesy swimming in mid air, Blos on ledges and rocks (that happend to me to actually, I was going for my first white Monoblos and he was moonwalking on the wall in area 3 of the desert xD). But there are anothers that not many people share/know. So, this post is to inform about what kind of glitches can be benefitial ^^.

Until now I've found two:

1- Abusing "going in-and-out" of an area.

There are certain monsters that when you go outside an area, they have different behaviour. For example, Kirin ends its rage mode faster.
I've found out that if you go outside of an area while fighting Blangonga and go back, it takes a few seconds to spot you again, which means free hits, or a free charge from a hammer of GS (but in rage mode doesn't work that well, because he spots you more easily). I think it works with Congalala as well, but since it's so easy to kill, it really can just become a waste of time.
I've tried it with elder dragons, and from my understanding, the winged dragons (Kushy, Luna, Teo and Chamy) go back to the spot from where they arrive to the area. That is helpful when they are on the air, spamming their areal moves (be careful, since it can actually work the other way around and if they are on the ground they will begin to fly. Also since Kushala likes to spam that while enraged it may not work that well).

2- Items that deplete your health

Don't you just hate when you have a powderstone, and when about reach camp you die from damage? Well, not anymore, with the magnificent Recovery Speed+1 skill Very Happy. By accident I've founded that when carring a Khezu Whelp, Guild Flag or a Powder Stone your health actually recovers so fast that you stop losing it. Obviously, it doesn't get along too well with lava, so make sure you have enough cool drink effect last until arriving on camp. On a side note, when an enemy attack sends you flying, or suffer quake/windpressure/roar staggering you start losing health again, so be careful with that.

So, any of you found anything like that? ^^

Nope. But those are more like helpful in game coding really. Not what I would call glitches.

One I can think of is that Tigrex get's stuck if he charges into a wall with his mouth open. Very useful for extra time to recover and set up traps or for you to score more hits.

Everyone knows that though. xD

Yeah, I know they aren't "real" glitches ^^". But hey, its better than nothing, and besides, it doesn't make you feel like a cheater(?).
Oh, I remember another one: sometimes when fighting a Elder Dragon like Lunastra, Kushala or Teostra they sometimes get "locked" in their roarings, doing it sometimes like 10 or more times in a row, perfect to score a lot of free hits. The thing is that I still don't know how to trigger it, but I do know that use to happens when I enter an area where the dragon is, but before it gets the chance of landing.
And even other one is the "hidden attacks of Kut-ku and Gypceros" (the thing is that those aren't helpful at all xD). I couldn't make it a lot of times, so I can't say that I know, but I think that you can trigger them by hit them while they are flying and attempting to land in the area. Remember the Los attack "around the word in 80 days", in wich he flies twice around the screen and after that it tries to hit you with a aerial tackle? Well, if you are unlucky enough, you can make Kut-ku and Gypceros do it two, but belive me that it hurts A LOT. And, it takes you by surprise, seeing those two noobs trying to act like a wyvern xD

That move is more common for me, especially in higher ranking quests. Guess some of 'em had Rathalos for role models. xD

Talking about Khezu made me remember another thing ^^. You see, when fighting him on Snowy Mountains, if he's enraged he can jump over ledges, right? (like the ones on area 1, 3 and 6). Well, if you climb the ledge of area 3 and go as much right as you can, no matter what attacks he does, he can't touch you, not even when trying to jump on you because there's not enough space for him to land. That way you can safetly take him down as a gunner (and you have a good advantage point to hit it's back and head).

He can't jump up the ledge in MHFU. I always stood there and shot him down. Nothing he did seemed to reach me. Or I was just really lucky. xP

Maybe was that you were lucky, but I really don't know. I just know that when enraged he can jump higher and farther, that's why he can climn the ledges here. But maybe it's because Capcom just added that in Dos so Khezu won't be that easy to beat, like in post games that they added the electrical jump when he's enraged and all of that crap. Oh, I remember something that I wanted to ask a long time ago: see, the Blos wyverns are inmune to Pitfall traps because when you trow a Sonic bomb at them it does the same effect. Having that in mind I was thinking if you actually can capture them when low on health and with any tranq shot/bomb/knife or you can only do it with a Paralize trap

Khezu jumps higher and faster in rage mode in PSP versions too. I guess I got lucky.

On the topic about the Blos', I feel that Monoblos was never truly appreciated for how strong he really was. Not to mention he has amazing armor late in the game. Is he much of a threat in Dos?

Nah, he isn't that much of a threat. Comparing them it's like comparing Los and Ian: Monoblos has a little more attack power and speed, but has considerably less life. I can tell because I was using once a Hunter's Power Bow, barely hitting him, with no bombs or any kind and yet I could kill him like in 35 minutes

Poor guy, he got overshadowed by Diablos.

I'm waiting for a English version of MHP3rd. There's a video on gameplay of it on the PS Vita (PSP2).

Be warned, the tester has a REALLY annoying voice.

Yes, Vita. The succesor of PSP and the competition for the 3DS. They've announced thay by ends of this year they will be launched in Japan and in the begining of 2012 they would launch it for the rest of the world. Haven't still heard about changes on the dates.

Hell yeah. If at that time someone told you that soon the LCD's not only will be a common thing, but also there was going to be a even better version made by organic matter you would say that they have mental problems xD

Holy crab. I couldn't see more that 5 minutes of a video because of the size, but that just looks awesome xD Even with that low picture quality that the camera had. But... won't it be a little weird if Capcom decided out of the blue make the game with the 3D technology?

it wouldn't, monster hunter Tri G is announced to be released on the 3DS. MH4 was tagged to be another release to come but so far it's still in early development stage so nothing's actually confirmed. we might see TRI G released early next year, but no official date has been announced from what I know.

Damn, so they are already planning to launch the MH4? Compared with other videogame titles, MH really had an incredible success (even if it's more popular in Japan than in the USA or other countries, it's still a great amount of games that they've achived). I mean, how many other videogames are that found port in pretty much all of the contemporary game consoles? (including not only internet access, but even a cellphone game).

MH is a cultural phenomenon in Japan. It's mentioned in talk shows and even certain Anime and Manga, albeit twisted to avoid copyright issues though. They call it Mon Han or other similar sounding words.

It's only natural that it enjoys continual success . Can't say that about the US though. They won't even pick up MH and give it a try even after all the lengths CAPCOM went to advertising for MH3. It did well, but not as well as they'd predicted. So now I'm wondering i they'll discontinue future translations and releases of MH into the US for us to buy and play.

As per what Just had said, it does seem that Capcom Japan have next to no plans to release any more monster hunter franchise into the states. While it has been said that there's something in store for MH fans Stateside, things are looking pretty grim so far.
It also appears that Capcom is releasing Monster hunter on Nintendo out of spite to Sony, but that's just gossip from how I see it.

Which leads me to this; why did CAPCOM switch from the PS3 to Wii for Tri anyway?!

At least there's a glimmer of hope for future releases.

Maybe Capcom did that so it would give it a chance to the consoles of other companies. He's got the PSP and PS Vita con his hands, so a little investment on the 3DS and the Wii would only give it more audience and more sellings. It's like games that were from the PS2 and the XBOX: many of them were made to both consoles, so it would be a win-win on either side.
