| I have slayed it or put it to sleep for more than 6 times and it always gives me Scale+
I have Divine Whim already, I need the plates to upgrade my Dragonslayer. | |

| the biggest change to get plate is to cut the tail of the normal Grank rathian (12% orso,, not the Gold or the Pink!!!)
when you get a plate, just die 3 times. you keep the items you got from the quest, do not abandom, cause you will lose all the stuff you obtained. | |

| I've tried that for 6 consecutive times, its on the *5 G Rank
on the jungle with the velocidrome right???
and I've used TDS, and Smolder Dragonsword just to see if it will change the results but its scale+ all the time.. bad luck! | |

| try to get mega or ultra lucky cat skill
and i've heard there is a better chance if you carve it while the rathian is in the area you could flash it and carve it | |

| Mega and ultra lucky cats increases the amount(potential that is) of rewards you get from the hunt, patting your pig before you depart for a quest increases the potential of good carves and rewards. | |

| um, im not sure what you mean, but always hunt the normal green one.
on Grank, (HR5) this one has the biggest change of carving it from the tail.
when using the carving celebrety skill, u will be able to carve the tail twice. | |

| carving celebrity skill? I don't know that but I think we're on the same page cause I always take this Quest HR5.
with the annoying velocidrome on area 6 or 7.
total, i have slayed it 10 times and I have 50 plus scale+
its getting frustrating now...
I break his head always and I concentrate merely on the head.
I even tried this,
cut the tail first, no carve.
what if I don't cut it??? in the end for the rewards will it give me. | |

| No problem there Astinos, when I started in MHP2, it took me 20 Rathians before a plate dropped. | |

| you can get them...
do the normal rathian in the desert, G-ranked
kill it before it flee's, this always works for me | |
